Yukon territory, says: The Yukon valley la a roaring furnace fur-nace for 200 miles between Hlg Salmon Sal-mon and Stewart City. Everywhere forest fires are raging, but they are not near any city. Hundreds of thousands of acres of virgin forest are being swept. Possibly Pos-sibly 1,000,000 cords of timber has been ruined. At Coffey creek no hot was the fire that it leaped the river. F. X. Ladei-out Ladei-out lost bis home, barn and horses in' tbe flames. Arrivals from uprlver said It was impossible to see the banks for many miles because of dense smoke. Governor Black has Issued a special proclamation of warning that all persons per-sons guilty of burning off underbrush will be prosecuted to the extreme limit of the law.
