Show NEWSY NOTES ABOUT FOLKS B. E. Cooper was a business visitor to the capital city, the end of last week. t Marion Kilpack was in Oasis. Sunday, paying his regards to one of the most lovely young ladies of that town. Alb. Leuthauser returned last Thursday, from a trip to Los Angeles, where he had been marketing a load of porkers. Mrs. H. J. Myers of Abraham, took the train here Tuesday evening, for Salt Lake City, to visit friends and do some necessary necess-ary shopping. Mrs. Laura Furrer, of WTood-row, WTood-row, left Saturday for Salt Lake, where she expects to remain for a couple of weeks, to receive treatment from a specialist, for ailments peculiar to her sex. Uncle Jim Melville spent Saturday Sat-urday and Sunday with relatives in the Lake, returning Monday, in order that he might put his shoulder to the wheel in making arrangments for the Round Up, next week. Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Wilkins were called to Hinckley, Sunday morning, Mr. Wilkin's brother, Jud, having passed away early Sunday morning. Interment is to take place today. Our heart goes out in sympathy to the bereaved be-reaved relatives in this intance. In response to a telegram conveying con-veying the information that her mother was seriously ill, last Saturday night, Mrs. Geo. Meinhardt Mein-hardt of Sutherland, took the train Sunday morning for Franklin, Frank-lin, Iowa, to render such care and assistance as a dutiful daughter daugh-ter could to aid a stricken mother. . Abraham Gibson, a newspaper man of Nephi, was a Delta visitor visit-or Sunday. Mr. Gibson said that he had heard so many flattering reports of the greater delta country; coun-try; that he had concluded to see it with his own eyes. It goes without saying that he was highly impressed with Delta's past, present and future. The U. S. Weather Bureau issued is-sued for January gives the snowfall snow-fall in West Millard County during dur-ing January.as 14 inches, while at Fillmore, a trif Le less than 7 inches was reported. Oak City averaged aver-aged slightly over 15 inches and Scipio a fraction over 16 inches. The precipitation during the same month is given as 1 to 2 inches, varying considerable in the different dif-ferent localities of the county. Mr. Lant, representing the Utah-Idaho Sugar Co. of Salt Lake City, is spending the week here, contracting with the farmers farm-ers for the planting and marketing market-ing of sugar beets. Several of the settlers hsve already called upon Mr. Lant at the Delta Co. office and made arrangements tc grow beets this year. We wil endeavor to ascertain for nexl week's issue, the total acreage contracted.
