Show Scipio Sayings. Lee Thompson came home on Tuesday. Edwin Ivie returned from a trip to the Fair. Perry Memmott moved into his new house last week. Mrs. Jens Peterson entertained entertain-ed the Top Notch Club on Wednesday Wed-nesday night. Lon Brown returned from Salt Lake on Tuesday, where he underwent un-derwent treatment for partial deafness. The Linger Longer Club enjoyed enjoy-ed oyster stew and a good evening even-ing at cards at Han Esklund's on Wednesday. Jas. Peters bought some cows here and contracted a large bunch of steers to be delivered March 20th. Mr. and Mrs. Riley Johnson, Mrs. Hiram Johnson and Mrs. Heber Johnson spent Sunday with relatives here. Mrs. Cora Robins, has been having a seige of lagrippe and has been unable to attend to school duties for a week. Mrs. Noble Peterson entered Leland Stanford University the first of the year. Her husband has been a student there since September. A baby girl arrived at the home of Pete Olsen on the 23rd, his daughter, Hilda and her husband, John Bennett, of Hol-den, Hol-den, being the happy parents. Mrs. George Peterson was given giv-en a happy surprise on Jan. 16th when a number of friends and relatives called and spent the afternoon. Mrs. Peterson is slowly slow-ly recovering from partial paralysis. par-alysis. Messrs. O. C. Coke, Paul Jensen Jen-sen and Clyde Nielson came over from Salina, by auto on Monday. Mr. Coke, bojght twelve horses, here, paying from $90 to $140 a head for them. Mr. Nielson was quite badly injured by a kick from one of the horses, and Glenn Thompson helped drive the horses, to Salina in his stead. The rabbitt hunt on Thursday was between thirty single and thirty married men. 907 rabbits met their finish, the single men winning by 13. Forrest Memmott Mem-mott got 68 rabbits. Friday night the losers paid for a dance and oyster supper served, in the Relief Society Hall to 60 couples. Rabbit hunting is the topic of general conversation here these days. Another big hunt is proposed. pro-posed. Several hunts were held in the lake country and several hundred rabbits killed. |
