Show WHEAT CROP NOWASSURED Following a thaw on Thursday which took most of the snow off, 't rained at intervals Thursday n'ght and Friday morning melt-ng melt-ng the remainder, thereby putting put-ting an abundance of moisture in the ground. Then approximately approximate-ly six inches of snow fell Friday afternoon and during the night. It was a heavy, damp snow, the 9'ggest and best of the winter, Just the kind to be of greatest benefit to the fall grain crops, it Practically insures this country a yield of from 35 to 60 bushels an acre without the least question of a doubt. It has been conservatively estimated esti-mated that there are 10,000 acres in fall wheat in Millard County this season. A large acreage and a good yield certain, the farmers of Millard have every reason to be happy and jubilant, especially so when the market is on an upward up-ward trend as it is at the present time. It is authoritively stated by Mr Cropper, manager or the Deseret Mill, that the directors of that institution are now considering the feasibility of contracting all the wheat possible, for faM delivery, deliv-ery, at the stipulated price of $1.50 per bushel. |
