Show and Orlu MclVrmott were arrested fur selling liquor illegally. At drat they plead not guilty, but when they saw thut Sheriff Hlack meant business and that he held convincing proof of their guilt they changed their plea to guilty. Ou their solemn promise that they would quit the business Justice Neville Imposed a minimum tine of $ 1 DO each. Sheriff Mack had locked the seized liquor in an udjolning cellar and when he went to get It the next morning he found that the cellar had been broken Into and a large quant I'y of the liquor had been stolen. As snow had fallen since the theft all efforts to locate the stolen liquor were fruitless. It Is generally gen-erally believed that the owners of the buildings were the chief beneflelarle of the business, but a the traffic was broken up no rftorts were made to convict them. The people of Lynn profess themselves them-selves as very glad to have the business busi-ness stopped, but the sheriff has had no aid whatever from any one there in his efforts to suppress It. It seems as if those who want liquor are more active to protect It than the others are to suppress It. Sheriff Black Is determined de-termined to break It up In this county and he ought to have the support of every law abiding citizen to do so. Liquor selling Is no good to any community, com-munity, the citizens of the county are overwhelmingly opposed to It, every man who engages In It knows this to be the case. It is only a question of time when the Illegal trafficker will be caught, and the next one caught will be cinched so hard that all his Illegal profits will be wiped out and he will be taught that the business is the most unprofitable one he could engage in. LIQUOR SEIZURE AT LYNNDYL. It has been pretty generally known for a long time that liquor was being Illegally sold at Lynndyl. Millard Is a prohibition county and one can't possibly pos-sibly get drunk on the pure lithla water of Millard county. But Sheriff Black has never been able to find any liquor there or catch nny one selling It. He has made repeated efforts but be can't leave Oasis for any point without word being sent to Lynn of his movements and all evidence of booze exeept some strong breaths had been put out of sight by the time he got there. Last week he got a search warrant from Justice I'lerson at Oasis and went up to Lynn determined to run down the Illicit traffic If possible. He made a thorough search of two suspected places, one on the esst and one on the west side of the track. There was every evidence that liquor bad been dispensed In both places, but no liquor could be found at first In either place. Finally a cache was found In the cellar back under the floor, the opening to which was cunningly cun-ningly hidden by some ties. Here two barrels of bottled beer and a lot of other liquor was found. At the other building a quantity of liquor was found burled in the ground beside the building. build-ing. An account book was also found containing the sales of liquor to differ ent parties. The original entries had evidently been changed so as to show the liquor to have been pop, root beer, and other prohibition drinks, but the prices of "5 rents and $1.2.1 would Indicate In-dicate pretty stiff price for these cheap and haruilena beverages.
