Show Sugarville Si flings David Porter and family left Monday evening for Pomona, Cali. Mrs. Albert Watts and two sons left Monday evening for a few weeks visit with her people in Riverside, California. A few of the young folks gave Ralph Mellican a pleasant surprise sur-prise last Monday evening, as he left Wednesday for his old home in Ohio. The evening was spent in games and music. Cake and coffee were served and all report a fine time. Those present pres-ent were the Misses Edna Gary, Myrtle Anderson, Leona Seams, Christina Sniffer, Mabel Richter, Messrs Adam and Willie Schilfer, Clyde Cary, Rom Shields, Oscar Anderson and Earl Seams. 'The Friendship Thimble clnb will give a Halloween party Saturday Sat-urday evening, Oct. 28th, at the school house. There will be a fishing pond fortune teller and other Halloween amusements. Refreshments will be served-All served-All come out and have a good time. Mrs. Will Eiszele and children returned last week from a few weeks visit with relatives in Oregon. Jack Wright is having quite a tussle with the plague. Bert Johnson shipped a car of hogs from Sugarville last Sunday Sun-day at 7c per pound. Very few beets have been carred'as yet from this section, the farmers having been delayed with all fall work on account of the rains. They are making jumps count now however, and , beet hauling will soon be on in j full blast. George Minter left Thursday 'to join his family in.
