Show Sutherland Ward Supper and Sale Is a Huge Success The supper and auction sale held by the Sutherland ward on last Thursday night proved to be a huge success, both socially and financially. A sum of over $1100 was cleared that evening, to go into in-to the building fund for the new building for the ward. The committee and ward members mem-bers wish to express their appreciation apprecia-tion to the public for the patronage they received, and special thanks to Mr. Coons and L. Morrison, for contributing to the success of the auction sale, and to the Service Drug, D. Stevens and Co. Quality Market, and the Delmart for their contributions. The supper, served by the M. I. A., was especially enjoyed, and brought in a good sum for the evening. ev-ening. The auction sale followed the supper, and was opened by L. Mor-rison, Mor-rison, in the absence of John Henderson, Hend-erson, who was unable to come. , Later the services of Mr. Coons, of Salt Lake City, were procured. He was in town that night, to be at the sale at Dewey Sanford's the next day, and his rapid and humorous hum-orous style soon had them sold out. A large , number of items were auctioned, useful, and valuable ar-! ar-! tides, given by ward members for the sale. The bidding was fast and furious on such items as a can of pineapple, soaps, nylons, and prices soared. |
