Tickets will be sold for the big 'dance during the campaign, and receiving awards must be at the dance to get them, or else this honor will be passed on to someone some-one else. After the expenses of the dance are paid, the additional money mo-ney will be used by the beautifica-tion beautifica-tion committee, to beautify the town, with additional trees and shrubs, in the spring, or if any money is needed to make improvements improve-ments in the community. The money mo-ney will be used for that purpose. Vernon Love is chairman of the dance and awards. The town has been divided into four sections, with a captain chosen chos-en over each section. The captains chosen, are; Heber Bishop, north east section, Nephi Stewart, south west section; Ed Humphries, south east section and Don Bishop, north west section. ' Main Street and the high school is the dividing line. These four captains cap-tains will appoint a committee of five to help them organize for clean-up in their district. Three days out of the two weeks will be set aside as community days. On these days men will be asked to donate at least one day in helping to clean up the community entrance, ent-rance, or weeds along fence lines, outside of personal lots. Because we have so little time left to beautify for the Centennial, the committee felt that "The time is now", while the men aren't busy doing farmwork. Although the weather isn't so good it is felt that much can be done before real winter sets in It's probably too wet to burn the weeds, but they can be piled up and hauled away. Vernon Love has 35 gallons of useless oil that can be obtained to burn weeds. The burning of leaves isn't recommended. recommend-ed. They should be raked and placed plac-ed in a hole to rot. Next spring put this mold around your plants and shrubs. This campaign involves more than personal pride; it is basic training in democracy. It is an opportunity op-portunity to work together toward a common goal. The state beautification division has put the pressure on us; we are passing it on to you. The pioneers said, "This is the place." The beautification bea-utification committee says, "The Time is Now". |
