Show HIXCKLEY .... Mrs. 11. Spendlove Honoring the 77th birthday of John E. Wright was an entertainment entertain-ment given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Moody on November Nov-ember 14. The evening was spent in popping corn and visiting. There .vas plenty of ice cream and cake tor those present. The group included: in-cluded: Mr. and Mrs. John E. Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wright, Mr. and Mrs. J. Evan Wright and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Smith 3f Delta, and Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Moody of Hinckley. Also present ivere eleven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Mr. and Mrs. Cluff Talbot and Mrs. Bertha Love spent the fore part of this week in Salt Lake "ity. Mr. and Mrs. Talbot were also al-so there last week, as also were Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Talbot and Mr. and Mrs. George Talbot. Mrs. Lois Wilson and Lucille Stephensen were visitors in Salt Lake last week end. Mrs. Hilma Stewart went with them to visit her son, Peorson, who is in the L. D. S. hospital, recuperating from a gun-shot wound. Mrs. Stewart reports that he is slowly improving improv-ing and his condition is fair. Recently Mrs. Lafe Nielson entertained en-tertained at a birthday party for her daughter, Caroline. Many little guests enjoyed an afternoon of games and refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Cropper motored mot-ored to Ephriam Monday night, to attend a Seminary convention held there. With them were Mr. and Mrs. M. Ward Moody and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Payne, of Delta. These good religious people really made a night of it, arriving home about six o'clock Tuesday morning. They had their reasons, however. Ask any of them for the details. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Wright over the week end were Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Hasting, Has-ting, of Boulder City. Mr. Hasting is a son of Mrs. Wright's. At their last meeting, the Literary Liter-ary Club elected new officers. Norma Nor-ma Bishop replaces Belva Morris, as president, and Margaret Jensen replaces Helen Shurtliff, as secretary. secre-tary. New members voted into the club were: Reva Talbot, Dana Bishop, Erma Cropper, Elaine Hardy Har-dy and Ellen Kernell. Those from Hinckley who attended attend-ed the Beautification Conference, in Salt Lake City, last Saturday were: Mr. and Mrs. George Ekins, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hilton, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ekins. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Spendlove, Mrs. Gladys Carter, Car-ter, Mr. Eugene Morris and Miss Jov Mcintosh. Mrs. George Talbot entertained at a party honoring her husband's birthday last week. The evening was spent in playing cards. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. George Talbot. Mr. and Mrs. Vaun Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Cluff Talbot, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Talbot, Mr. and Mrs. Rol-lie Rol-lie Franklin, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Talbot and Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Bennett. Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Tullis entertained enter-tained at an "Armistice Birthday Party" in their home on the eventing even-ting of November 11, honoring their son, Donald, this being the first birthday spent home since his call to the service over four years ago. They also honored Kennard Carter, who arrived that evening in Hinckley, Hinck-ley, having been in Japan during his period of service in the army. The cake was appropriately trimmed trim-med and decorated for Armistice as well as for a birthday, with the topping of "1918 - 1946 Happy Birthday with Peace". Don was assisted as-sisted in the cake-cutting ceremony cere-mony by Louise Sly, of Beaver. The lunch was served cafeteria style. As the guests were eating lunch, reports on the experiences they had recently had, were given by the recently returned service-men. Singing, dancing and games were enjoyed during the evening and the party was kept moving with hilarity and with fun running high throughout the evening. I An election for a new member ' of the Board of Education for the Abraham- Hinckley- Deseret- Oasis district will be held in Hinckley high school on December 4. As far as is now known, Lawrence Law-rence Cropper, of Oasis, is the only applcant for the position. |
