Show Cast From B. A. C. " Will Present "Dear Ruth" "Dear Ruth", the comedy drama that had a two year run on Broadway, Broad-way, will be presented in the DHS auditorium on Monday night, Nov. 25, by a cast from the BAC speech and drama department. Twain Tip-petts, Tip-petts, head of the speech department, depart-ment, is directing the production, and the cast numbers players from the faculty and students. Miss Donna Jean Southwick, freshman from the BAC, and who has been crowned "Miss Utah of 1947", will play the feminine lead, and David Urie, war veteran, plays the leading man. The play is delightful comedy, in three acts, and reveals the complications compli-cations Mariam, the teen-age 0f the Wiikins family, gets into, when she writes letters to the service men, to keep up their morale, and signed them "Love Ruth", Ruth being her elder sister. Reserved seats have been on sale at the DHS, and are now sold out. However arrangements have been made to take care of all who want to see this show, by making extra seats in the general admission. admis-sion. This will include 100 seats on the sides, and extra seats down in front. From the ticket sales, expenses will be taken out to pay the production, pro-duction, and the funds above that will be turned back to the DHS, to apply on the purchase of some new equipment. The DHS wants to buy a new cyelorama, new curtain for the stage, and new curtains for the windows of the auditorium, in preparation for the Centennial lear. This new equipment will cost $1200, of which the management hopes to clear $200 on Monday's show. During the year the school intends in-tends to bring in other entertainments entertain-ments of the same high type as "Dear Ruth", to raise further funds. |
