Show Fillmore Reaches 44 Percent Of Bond Quota Highlight of an Armistice Day Victory Bond rally at the high school, Fillmore, was the display by Postmaster Wells P. Starley of $18,000.00 in $500 and $1000 bonds that had been written just prior to the meeting. The 2 p. m. rally under the auspice of the American Ameri-can Legion, and conducted by R. N. Day, district commander, was in honor of two visiting boys from Bushnell Hospital, Pfc. Donald Radloff and Pfc. Walter Thompson. These two service men and Allan Al-lan E. Mecham, deputy manager of the War Finance Committee of Utah were the principal speankers at the rally The meeting also served as the "kick off" to raise over $3000 bond quota of the Millard Mil-lard high school. The $18,000.00 in "E" bonds hur-ridly hur-ridly subscribed by some twenty of Fillmore citizens, when it was learned the boys from Bushnell I were coming, and as a token of appreciation for their bond rally effort; together with a few thousands thou-sands that had been sold earlier in the drive, makes Fillmore's quota 44 percent subscribed, said Mr. Starley. |
