Show Hinckley F F A Holds Fathers-Sons Banuet The Hinckley chapter of the Future Fu-ture Farmers of America held its annual Fathers and Sons banquet on Monday night, February 25. Eldon Downs, regional supervisor of the F. F. A. was the guest speaker for the evening. President Harold Western presided over the meeting. The following program was enjoyed by the guests and members- Prayer, Lester Hepworth, talk, John O. Barton; welcome address, ad-dress, Buron Robinson, chapter treasurer; response to welcome, Hugh Hilton; chapter accomplishments accomplish-ments were reviewed by Melvin Hepworth. Future plans of the chapter were revealed by Ralph Erickson. Short talks were given by Harold R. Morris, Superintendent Superintend-ent Maughan and E. J. Eliason. The last number on the progam was the address delivered by Eldon Downs, guest speaker. Rulon Bennett Ben-nett rendered a piano solo. Principal Milton Armstrong a-warded a-warded to Buron Robinson an FFA jacket, which was given as a scholarship award. Buron received higher marks in his school work in all classes than did any ither FFA student. Greenland pins were awarded by Harold R. Morris to the freshmen fresh-men boys of the chapter. Boys receiving re-ceiving this award were: Jeff Carter, Car-ter, Bill Davis, Carl Dutson, Dale Love, Walter Manis, Warren Peterson, Peter-son, Moreno Robins, Ray Wilkins, Wilmer Woodbury and LaMarr Terry-Chapter pins were awarded to the sophomore boys by Richard Shurtliff. Those who received these pins were: Darrel Allred, Clare H. Bishop, Marlowe Cropper, Richard Dewsnup, Fay Dutson, Ray Dutson, Lester Hepworth, Ladd Kelly, Buron Bu-ron Robinson, Howard Roundy, Fred Skeem, Lawrence Wright, Alva Al-va Young and Lynn Ireland. The home economics girls under the direction-'of Miss Anderson and Miss Hepworth prepared a very delicious de-licious meal and served to approximately approx-imately 100 guests. After the banquet the guests went to the high school auditorium auditor-ium to enjoy the picturesque film in technicolor, entitled "Along the Milky Way." Sgt. Clarence Bonner, and his wife and son, arrived in Delta on Wednesday from Fall River, Mass. They will make a short visit here with Mrs. Bonner's parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Parker, and go on to Hamilton Field, California, where Sgt. Bonner is being transferred. |
