Show DID SOMEONE SPEAK WITH AUTHORITY LAST TUESDAY, November 5th? It never occurred to me that when the hour of national na-tional regeneration should arrive that the transition from the new deal to old fashioned Democracy De-mocracy could be accomplished accom-plished without hysterical laughter or profound grief. i It did not seem possible that the dregs from fourteen four-teen years of political experimentation ex-perimentation could so quickly be transformed into burnished gold of a new hope. It has again been demonstrated that the ballot and the man controls this glorious Democracy De-mocracy and not the bureaucracies, bur-eaucracies, ' the rackets the unions or other kindred kin-dred voting groups. Last Tuesday the trails of all the voters in America converged at the ballot box and when the day was done and the story told, our beloved country had arisen from the mire of selfish incompetence into the sunlight of a new freedom. We need never fear again that any dictatorial government gov-ernment by any man or group of men can survive in America but for a time, and that only until the ballot and the man again appears and clarifies the political atmosphere which too often becomes polluted with the dross of selfishness. sm Now that a great burden will soon be removed from industry and from the people, let's begin in a generous spirit to repair the wounds that were occasioned oc-casioned by the attempt of the deciples of the new deal to build a shrine to its memory and let's be thankful that the rays of the rising sun of a new freedom are now upon us, marking the way to peace and happiness.
