The original New York cast, from the Clare Tree Major Maj-or Children's Theatre, from Chap-paqua, Chap-paqua, New York, gave the show. Mrs. Major is a former Utah woman, and assisted in bringing the show into Utah, while the troupe is on tour, appearing in most of the big cities across the country. The play was given in Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Brig-ham Brig-ham City, before coming to Millard County. The production was in four acts, with six scenes, and was beautifully beauti-fully and colorfully done. The lighting, costumes, change ' of scenes, dancing and playing, all done with an expert touch, made the show one of the most outstanding outstand-ing and worthwhile productions that have been shown here. It was originally intended to be shown to elementary school children, child-ren, which was done at the matinee. mat-inee. Buses from every elementary elemen-tary school on this side brought in students, and the audience was well over 600 children. The evening even-ing performance was for high school students, and some adults, with about 550 there. Tickets had been sold in school for ten days before the performance, for the school children first, and adults second. The Millard County School board paid $500 to have the show brot here. The funds that were realized on the sale of tickets will be added to a fund established by the school board to encourage bringing more of this type of worthwhile productions produc-tions into this area. |
