Show Delta High School Notes... Round-table Discussions . . The first of three round-table discussions concerning the subject of "Juvenile Delinquency" will be held at Topaz, Friday 11:30 A.M This discussion will be led by Mr Evans of the Topaz High School Dean Nielson will represent the Delta High school. Assembly Friday , . . The assembly Friday was given by the freshie class. The theme was, "Change Into Anything You Like" with Jean Watson as the professor pro-fessor of ceremonies. Many people entered the machine and upon coming out performed interesting numbers. The Freshie class is to be congratulated for they have a great deal of talent. Basketball . . Last Friday the basketball team was taken to Salt Lake City to see the tournament. They report that many important and useful tactics were displayed by some of the champion teams. A good time was also enjoyed by the fellows. The second team or next year's basketball team, played the soldiers sol-diers from Topaz Tuesday night in the Delta High gym. The team looks very promising for at the end of the game our team was 55 points ahead. High School Opera . . . The Delta High School will present pre-sent their opera, "Purple Towers" in the very near future. It is a 2-act 2-act comedy and the cast is working work-ing hard to make it a success. Watch for the date, it will be announced an-nounced soon. Hinckley will present pre-sent their opera at the Delta High school on Friday, March 24. The admission is 35 cents. Junior Prom . . The Juniors of the Delta High School will present the annual Junior Jun-ior Prom in the Delta High gym on Friday, March 31. The theme is "In the Garden of Tomorrow," and the Juniors hope that this will be the outstanding Prom. Everyone is invited to attend. Entrance Test . . . The Eighth grade has once again been subject to the high school entrance en-trance test. It is hoped by all that the I.Q. of this class is high and that the biggest majority passed. Aeronautics Club Banquet . . . One of the main features to be held on Aeronautics Day will be the banquet which is to be held at 6 o'clock. This banquet is invitational invita-tional with about 150 people expected ex-pected to attend Gov Maw is to be present and be the guest speaker. The Aeronautics Aeronau-tics club is sponsoring this event with the school board, faculty, county commissioners and state officials being asked to participate. Principal Glen W. Seegmiller is the acting toastmaster and his aides are: President Clea W. Dut-son; Dut-son; Vice-pres. Larry Clark and Secretary Wanda Spender. The banquet is being planned by Miss Julia Finlinson and the Sub-Deb Sub-Deb club will assist her. A fine program pro-gram and banquet is expected by everyone. Mrs. Norman Gardner and her sister, Mrs. Aita Fackrell, from Logan, Lo-gan, are visiting relatives in California. |
