Show Procedure on Non-highway Gas Clarified All applications Must Be Submitted to Local Rationing Boards Closer cooperation is planned between the County Farm Transportation Trans-portation Committee and the war price and rationing boards on the rationing of non-highway gasoline. All applications for non-highway gasoline to be used by farmers will be submitted to the local rationing boards, who in turn will forward to the CFTC all applications 'after noting the amount of gasoline issued is-sued for off-highway machines for a three months' period. The CFTC will go over the applications and recommend the amount of gasoline gaso-line required by each applicant. The general application is to allow al-low ZVi gallons per acre for dry land under cultivation; 6 gallons per acre on irrigated land, and one gallon per acre for cutting of hay land for one year. Recommendations Recommenda-tions made by the CFTC will be returned to the rationing boards, and, if agreeable, gasoline rations will be issued. Although the CFTC will recommend recom-mend gasoline' for a six months' period, the local ratioinng boards will probably issue rations for only on-ly 60 or 90 days in order to keep a check on gasoline issued. The move is made because the CFTC, through its connections with the ODT, is in a position to have accurate ac-curate and definite information on the actual requirements of non-highway non-highway gasoline usage. |
