Show Paul Adams Accidentally Shot Pheasant Hunting Paul Adams was accidentally shot about the arm and face Saturday Sat-urday when he was out pheasant hunting and 23 pellets had to bo picked from his skin. The party was making a drive through some brush and Mr. Adams had lagged behind the others and was directly j back of them. A pheasant came I up and went back of the party and i Dr. Bird whirled 1o shoot at it. not seeing Mr. Adams nor realizing that he was back of the line of hunters. After the shot they started start-ed up again but missed Mr. Adams they called and received no answer an-swer so went back looking for him and found him bleeding profusely torn the many holes. He was quickly brought to Delta and four hours were spent picking shot from him. One had gone through his hand, one through an ear, and one had hit him in the corner of the eye socket narrowly missing his eye, and lodged in the bone of his nose. All told, seven of the pellets hit his face and the balance were in his arm and shoulder. Mr. Adams received no serious injury and is up and about. Max Hannifin was out shooting pheasants this week, when getting into some uneven ground, he fell in such a manner as to break a bone in his foot. An X-ray was taken showing the broken bone. He is attending to his duties on crutches. |
