Show Memorial Rites For Blackburn Sunday at Oasis Memorial ' services for Sgt. Vincent Vin-cent Blackburn will be conducted in the Oasis Chapel this Sunday by the American Legion. Sgt. Blackburn Black-burn enlisted in the Marines prior to Pearl Harbor and was a veteran of Midway in the early days of the war. Sgt. Elackburn was born in Oasis July 13, 1920, a son of the late J. Paul and Juanita Blackburn. He graduated from the Hinckley High School and also attended the BAC at Cedar City. Sgt. Blackburn was reported killed kill-ed in action in the Southwest Pacific. Pa-cific. The notification was received receiv-ed on October 10, 1944. He is survived sur-vived by a brother, Sgt. J. Paul Blackburn; a sister, Mrs. Hope Marshall, San Jose; and his two grandmothers, Mrs. J. C. Hawley, of Oasis, and Mrs. M. D. Blackburn of Salt Lake City. Commander Roy P. Hilton will be in charge of the services. I |
