Show Tarsus. In apostolic times, the part ot what Is now Asia Minor, on the northern shore of the Mediterranean sea, where the coast begins to run to the west, nd opposite the Island of Cyprus, formed the province of Clllcla one of the many provinces Into which Asia Minor was divided, and all forming parts of the Roman empire. To the west was Pamphylla, to the north Gap-padocla, Gap-padocla, and to the east Syria. Clllcla was, therefore, the highway between Syria and the cojitral and western parts of the empire. Jews formed a considerable consid-erable part of the population. |
