Show HHS Sponsors Annual Rodeo Friday, May 9 The Hinckley high school will stage an amateur rodeo at the Hinckley rodeo grounds on Friday, May 9 at 8 p. m. This will be the second rodeo sponsored by the school to raise funds to build up and improve the athletic department. depart-ment. Featured at the show this year will be bareback riding, bull riding, rid-ing, calf roping, wild cow milking, girls' steer riding, exhibition oalf roping, and novelty stunts. Three clowns, Cloyd Theobald, Jay Mc Donald and Sheldon Christensen will furnish plenty of laughs for the crowd. The rodeo will be presented with a grand entry of all the participants, par-ticipants, then a junior and senior exhibition. Participants taking part in the various events include the following follow-ing students of the school: Darrel Taylor, Dale darling, Sheldon Chris tensen, Cloyd Theobald, Billie Talbot, Tal-bot, Gerald Damron, Sherlene Talbot, Tal-bot, Carol Keller, Lowry Bishop, Neil Swensen, Jay Mc Donald, Jay Draper, Delyle Bennett, Gale Ben- nett, Joe Nielson, Robert Blanch, Mario Morris and Bob Judd. The following prizes have been offered the students: Buck Young, of Richfield will give a trophy to the best all-around cowboy, George Talbot, a pair of Levis, Deseret Cash Store, Levis, D. Stevens Stev-ens Co., a jacket, Delmart, saddle pants, Golden Black and. Son, a flashlight, Carl Ashby, cash, Reed Turner, two belt buckles, Drive-in 3 dozen Spudnuts, Love's Service Station, a grease job, Blake's Service' Ser-vice' Station, 10 gallons of gas, Sunrise Dairy, a gallon of icecream, ice-cream, Harold R. Morris Store, a girl's Levi jacket, Reeve's Store, a box of choclates, Brooklawn Creamery, 5 pounds of cheese and Baker Pharmacy, a gift. The rodeo committee consists of Sheldon Christensen, chairman and Cloyd Theobald, Darrel Taylor and Dale Carling, committee members. Queen tryouts for the rodeo were held Tuesday, May 5. Participants were Margene Hilton, Carol Keller, Lyla Rae Talbot, Verlene Stevens, Paula Workman, and Shirley Davis. Lyla Rae Talbot was chosen with Shirley Davis and Paula Work man as attendants. |
