Show V Abraham PEGGY FRANKLIN Gus Taylor was a Provo visitor last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifferd Petersen and son, Arnold, left Wednesday for Logan where Arnold is entering enter-ing the university. From there they to Montpelier, Idaho, to visit with Mr. and Mrs. John Hessell-guesser Hessell-guesser and family. Last Thursday evening a young group of girl friends had a surprise sur-prise birthday party to Marilyn Murray at her home. They played games and refreshments were served. ser-ved. Marilyn received many nice birthday gifts. The girls attending were Sylvia Bishop, Margene Hilton, Hil-ton, Myrna Petersen, Ramona Robinson, Rob-inson, Karen Petersen,Lois Stone-king, Stone-king, VaLay Deem .and LoRaine Petersen. Mrs. Phyllis Johnson scalded her foot with hot water over a week ago and it is just now starting to get well. Mrs. Peggy Franklin and sons, Jerry and Kim, visited Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Provo with her sister, Mrs. Rulon Dee Bennett Ben-nett .and family. Myron Taylor was home from the BYU over the weekend. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Taylor, drove him back to school Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rushton and family from Ely, Nevada, and Mrs. Jensen were here to attend the opening of Highway 6 and to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Alva H. Young, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Young and families. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Deem had all sorts of company over the weekend. They were Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Christensen, all of Newcastle, New-castle, and Mrs. Marie Winther of Holladay, and Miss Shirley Deem. Shirley is working as secretary for the Milne Truck line in Salt Lake. Visiting from Thursday through Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Barker were Mrs. Barker's parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Nielson Niel-son from Ogden. Mrs. Lois Edwards and Mrs. Roberta Ro-berta Turner from Provo came down 'for the celebration in Delta and visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Tolbert and family. Weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bliss were Hannah Kringlin, the former head nurse at Topaz and now of Stockton, Stock-ton, California, and her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam Gardner .and their daughter, Sondra, of Caliente, Nevada. The Abraham Garden Club will hold their meeting Thursday, Oct. 9. at 2:30 in the church house. Mrs. Reva Bliss will be hostess and we I would like to invite all the ladies in the ward to come. Mrs. Ruth Dewsnup will give the program. Mrs. Mary Schena and family had a whole house full of company com-pany and then some, here for the celebration over the weekend. Visitors Vis-itors were Mr. and Mrs. Dean Rose and two daughters from Mam moth and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hansen and two sons, also from Mammoth, Mrs. Schena's niece and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Will Hoit from Current Creek, Nevada, and a friend of Mrs. Schena's, Mrs. Mary Baiochi of Salt Lake City, and son, Joe, who had just returned re-turned from service in -Korea. Visiting for a week with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hoelzhe is Ray's cousin, Sebastian Neidedditer from Pittsburgh, Pitts-burgh, Pa., who is on his way to Great Falls, Mont., where he works. The program in church Sunday evening was under the direction of the young women's MIA: It was a very interesting program which followed the MIA theme. Each age group in the Mutual was represented In the skits were acted act-ed out In pantomime while a recording re-cording at their voice was played. Mrs. Kenneth Barker took charge of the meeting and musical parts were furnished by Mrs. Cleone Tolbert, Tol-bert, Karen and Marilyn Murray, LoRaine Petersen and Lois Stone-king Stone-king Dorothy Tolbert and LaVoy Tolbert. Bishop Gus Taylor gave out the MIA awards to the following girls: Bonita Talbot, Marily Murray, LoRaine Lo-Raine Peterson and VaLay Deem. Mr. Raleigh Franklin made a business trip to Provo Monday. Someone was mean enought to leave three unwanted gray kit- tens at Reva Bliss' place and she doesn't much appreciate their generosity. gen-erosity. It seems most folks like to choose their own cats and she already has her share. Alva Young, Jr., Al-C, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alva Young, is home on leave from the Air Force to help with the harvest. He is stationed sta-tioned at Mather Field, near Sac-remento, Sac-remento, California. Mr. and Mrs. Almon Fullmer and family were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Fullmer and other members of the Fullmer fam ily over the weekend. |
