Show SSghest Snow Measurements Ever 'On Record Snow measurements on 1 lie Pine Creek and Chalk Creek-Pine Creek snow courses this year are the highest on record according to figure's fig-ure's released by the Forest Service and Soil Conservation Service of-, ficials.. On the Pine Creek course, average aver-age snow depths was S3.1 inches, with a water content- of 28.3 inches. On the Chalk Creek-Pine course average snow depth is 71.0 inches; water content, 20.6 inches. On the Chalk Creek course, the 1936-1951 average is 39.3 inches of snow, 12.1 inches of water. This years' measurements are 180 of that average. The measurement nearest to this year was Ln 1937 when snow depth was 63.7 inches, with 18.3 inches of water. The Pine Creek course has been measured for only 4 years. The highest measurement prior to this year was recorded in 1949, when snow depth was 53.22 inches, water content 16.44 inches.
