F The building a structure of four i floors and sub-basement sub is r planned with space so organized as to provide the following accommodations accommodations r In the sub-basement sub arc are located storerooms and all mechanical equipment There are great fans for for fresh tempered air supply to toL L the ballroom and other gathering places in the building There are arc two exhaust fans for drawing off foul air in such a manner as to tomake tomake make this building second to none with respect to ideal ventilation The ground floor is the busy every day portion of the build- build ing It affords a cafeteria 50 per percent percent percent cent larger than the one formerly used as a students' students dining hall three private dining rooms for the use of special groups or faculty members attending committee luncheons an up-to-date up beauty parlor and barber shop Adjoining the cafeteria and the dining rooms is a fully equipped modern modem kitchen There are dressing dressing dressing dress dress- ing rooms with shower baths for kitchen and cafeteria help The main floor is assigned tomajor to tomajor tomajor major social activities Besides the business office for the building and check rooms there is located on this floor a ballroom which is 38 38 p per peir c larger than any similar similar similar simi- simi lar ballroom in inthe the state At the opposite ends of this ballroom are located mens men's and women's lounges and each of these open on to two tile-paved tile terraces Each lounge is 26 feet by 58 feet and so arranged as to by b m usable able at times time when the ballroom will be crowded beyond capacity Overlooking the ballroom is the mezzanine floor on which are located students' students clubrooms clubrooms club- club rooms faculty club rooms and and I reading rooms The faculty clubroom is a room in English design with decorative ceiling and paneled oak-paneled walls into which will be placed as part of the decorative scheme th the ensig- ensig nia of various colleges represented in the faculty The students' students game or clubroom is directly over the mens men's lounge and built with walls paneled in walnut The top floor is designed to house the offices of the various student activities affording sixteen sixteen sixteen six six- teen offices and committee rooms and in addition thereto a small lecture lecture lec lec- ture room seating two hundred people In connection with the lecture lecture lecture lec lec- ture room is provided a projection booth for educational or motion pictures |
