Be Appreciative Almost ten years ears ago it was decided that the great need of of Utah was a campus home An enterprising group group of students students stu- stu stu-j stu dents backed up by loyal and spirited public alumni decided to build that home At the time they realized somewhat the hazards in involved i iii n such an undertaking The sponsors of other schools had gone gone forth to do the thc same thing Some had been outstandingly outstandingly 1 successful others had had disheartening struggles In fact at the present time as a result of d defaulting payments some some of f these union buildings have ha had to be taken over as security by bv their financial backers At Utah remarkable progress has been made Our building is is practically paid for as it stands Be it said to the lasting credit of those immediately in c charge arge that they proceeded only as rapidly as funds permitted and no involvements have been made that place the structure in jeopardy There Ther have been no large contributions The beautiful building stands there a monument to the loyalty of the great student mass down the years who che cheerfully gave a dollar here and a dollar there Dont Don't be disappointed because some parts of the beautiful beautiful beautiful beau beau- structure are not entirely finished They will be bc soon Look upon that that rather as the exercise of a caution appropriate in 1931 So then congratulations to the thousands of student sponsors sponsors sponsors spon spon- sors of the beautiful Utah Union i
