Show Iliiickley Mrs. Harriet Spendlove Mrs. Vernon Love returned home after a visit in California with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Blake. She went to California with them after they spent a few days here in Hinckley Hinck-ley visited with friends and relatives. relat-ives. The Second Year Bee Hive group met at the home of Thora Petersen Peter-sen for their class and the First Year Bee Hive group met at the home of Lillian Warnick for their work. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bishop and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bishop visited vis-ited with a few relatives and friends fri-ends in town last Saturday. They came down to check on the farm which they own jointly, and were' here for only a short while. Mr. and Mrs. . Bill Hardy and their daughter, Kaye, are touring Yellowstone National Park this week. LeMar Terry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Terry, is home for a short visit with his parents. He has been employed at the North Rim of Grand Canyon since the oinoinc of school. He has been to were visited over the week end by their daughter Ruth Johnson and her small daughter. ' Mr. ana Mrs. D. H. Mcintosh and family were Saturday and Sunday visitors in Hinckley. Mrs. Orlando Hepworth and son Lester, were visitors at the home of Grace Hyatt in Payson Sunday and Monday. Mr. Clinton Peppers arrived in Hinckley Tuesday afternoon, after being notified of his son's being seriously injured in an accident on Monday afternoon, and the child, Clinton Peppers III, died while he was enroute here from Los Ang eles. Also here at the home of Mrs. Milo Bishop is Mrs. Bishop's son, Cleone Virgin, who arrived here earlier, coming from Baldwin Park Cal., to visit with his mother a r .1 I ,n VinO TVTrS with their son, Lurous and his fam ily. Elsie, Eva and Colleen Blake are accompanying them on this trip. . Guests last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Dutson were Mr. and Mrs. James Cox and family. fam-ily. They also visited with Hyrum and Howard Blake. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Carter of Lebanon, Ore., are living in Hinckley Hinck-ley for the summer. They have rented the home of Ren Taylor, located south of the Keller home. Mr. Carter is a brother to Byron Carter. Last week, Fay, Ray and Carl Dut son and Sheldon Christensen tour-, ed in Nevada. They went foxhunting fox-hunting and brought back three baby foxes with them. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sly of Beaver were week end guests at the home were wees enu guests ttt me numc of their son, Chester Sly. Mrs. Maxine Carter is visiting now in Baker, Ore., with her sister, who lives there. With her is her son, Jackie Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Damron had as their house guest last Thursday, Friday and Saturday Mrs. Dam-ron's Dam-ron's sister, Mrs. Rita Anderson of San Francisco. Mrs. Andesron is now visiting in Fillmore with her mother. Berniece Hepworth was at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Hepworth. On Saturday and Sunday she ac companied Leonard Palmer to St. George to visit there with his sister-in-law, Ila Lytle, having taken Marilyn Palmer there to - spend a while visiting with the Lytle fam ily. They toured Bryce, Zion and Cedar Breaks while there. In the last week, four birth-' day parties for the younger set were held. Mrs. Richard Shurtliff entertained in honor of her daugh ter, Dixie, on her seventh birthday. birth-day. Mrs. M. H. Cropper gave a party honoring her daughter, Connie Con-nie on her seventh birthday; Mrs. Carl Hardy entertained for her small daughter, Chris, and Mrs. Aroet Taylor gave a party for her son, Floyd, on his fifth birthday. Mrs. Cluff Talbot entertained the Rook Club at her home on Friday night. High score was won by Mrs. Wayne Petersen, with Mrs. Richard Shurtliff taking second. sec-ond. Guest prize was won by Mrs. Blaine Spendlove; Mrs. Harold Mor ris won travelling prize and Mrs. lew uays aim unv .. Peppers and her children. The group will leave here Wednesday Wed-nesday morning, and with them will be Mr. and Mrs. Milo Bishop who will go to Los Angeles to attend at-tend the funeral which will be held on Friday, at 2 p. m. Don Morris and Merlin Theobald returned home Tuesday afternoon after having been gone twelve days with the scouts on the trip to Valley Forge for the National Jamboree which was held there. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hilton have moved to Logan where Ross is now attending summer school. He plans also to enroll at the USAC next fall and attend there through the regular school year. Tuesday evening the Special Interest In-terest Class was favored by a book review given by Mrs. Albert Skidmore. The book being "Friend ly Persuasian". Following the review, re-view, ice cream was served to the group. The M-Men and Gleaners met on Monday night under the leadership lead-ership of Helen Shurtliff and Rulon Anderson. The Junior M-Men went on a rabbit hunt on Tuesday evening, and a swim followed this activity. They then met on the lawn of the home of Lars Bishop, where they enjoyed a watermelon bust. A reservoir party was the schedule sch-edule for the Explorers and Scouts for this weeks mutual. They had the duck and several rubber rafts and went boating, having a fire i and refreshments later in the ev- Salt Lake City investigating enlisting en-listing in the armed services. LeVon Terry, who has been enlisted en-listed since last fall has been shipped to Japan recently to join the U. S. Troops there. Mr. and Mrs. William Jacobson of Lehi and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jacobson of Provo were week end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Workman. This group went to Lehman's Caves on Saturday. Satur-day. They were met there by Ar-villa's Ar-villa's aunt and uncle, Mr .and Mrs. George Smith and their family fam-ily of Ely, Nev., and by another relative, Mrs. Robert Ranford and her family of Ruth, Nev. On Monday Mr. and Mrs. Workman Work-man journeyed to' Tooele to get their daughter, Paula, who has been visiting there for the past two weeks with her cousin, Virginia Vir-ginia Christensen. Work is going forward on putting put-ting in a curb and gutter on the main street of Hinckley. This will be done for two blocks from the Ward chapel to Love Service Station Stat-ion on each side of the road. The work is now being done on the west side of the road. In August this road will be oiled and curbed. curb-ed. Other improvements on the streets are planned for the future. Mr. Robert Bishop is now in Memphis, Tenn. He went there to drive home his wife and family, who have been there since the latter part of May, visiting with her mother. |
