Show TAXPAYER WANT SALARIES GUT Logan Utah, July 20. 1921 Editor Logan Republican: 'You havo doubtless noticed thai the citizens ot Salt Lake and of oth- r places have undertaken to have their taxes reduced, by a method of' using greater economy on city and' county salaries and by decreasing tho ' number of the 'officers'. d it not be wise for the peo' pie of Logan to take this 'matter up and sec if tho burden of taxes cannot can-not be lightened. It Is not likely that one halt- ot the people ot thla city will be able to pay their (axes this fall, and yet- the load is still Increasing In-creasing upon them. Tho great troublo Is that people generally sit around and wait tor oth e'rs to lead out in such matters as this and what Is the business of every one, no one looks after. By unnecossarlly Increasing the number of offices and Increasing tho salaries ot all these, tho politicians are getting us Into a mire that will be Very difficult for us to ever got out. A TAXPAYER. In order to fully consider tho matter mat-ter some "brass tacks" should be in evidence. It is intimated that tho number of offices have been increased, increas-ed, also that the salaries are excessive, exces-sive, both of which may be true. Economy should begin at home so let's start with Logan, and Cache county. Does Mr, Taxpayer Includo Logan and Cacho county In tho list, If so, let's have the specifications and then go after tho remedy. No uso to say what the politicians are doing.
