Show TAXPAYER WANT SALARIES CUT Logan Utnh, July 29, 1921 Editor Logan Republican: You havo doubtless noticed that the citizens of Salt Lake and of oth-r oth-r places have undertaken to have their taxes reduced, by a method of using greater economy on city nnd county salaries and by decreasing tho number of the omcers. (I ii not be wise for tho people peo-ple of Logan to take this 'matter up and see it tho burden of taxes cannot can-not be lightened. It is not likely that one halt' of tho people of this city will be able' to pay their taxes this fall, and yet the load Is still Increasing In-creasing upon them. The great troublo Is that people generally sit around and wait for oth ers to lead out In such matters as this and what Is tho business of evory one, no one looks after. By unnecessarily Increasing1 the number of offices nnd Increasing tho salaries of all these, tho politicians are. getting ua into a mlro that will be Very difficult for us to "ever get out. A TAXPAYER. The above trotn a prominent t .x payer Is worthy of notice, not from his side alone, but from the side of the office holder. In order to fully consider tho matter mat-ter some "brass tacks" should be in evidence. It is Intimated that the number of offices have been Increased, Increas-ed, also that the salaries are excessive, exces-sive, both of which may be true. Economy should begin at home so let's start with Logan, and "Cache county.
