Postmaster Postmas-ter General Burleson announced today to-day that alter April 1 the appointments appoint-ments or all postmi'tcrs of the hrst, second and third-class would be subject sub-ject to competitive examinations. Nominations will br sent to the senate sen-ate as in the past, but in making selections se-lections the president will be guided by the results of examinations and will send in the names at the head of the lists.
