Show MOTOR TRUCKS USE URGED TO HELP TRANSPORTATION The following Is an excerpt from the official bulletin published by Committee on Public Information, Washington, March 19, 1918: "The following announcement has been authorized by tho Council of National Defense: "The Council of National Defense has given Its formal approval to all measures designed to facilitate tho use. of the motor truck In transportation transport-ation wherever It can bo utilized. Its efforts in this connection have been directed through tho Highways Trans port Committee. , Through the Stato Councils of Defense and other agon-clcscles agon-clcscles it Is urging all communities as far as possible to adopt the motor truck to their local needs and encourage en-courage Its use in any way to- help existing transportation problems. The truck Is proving of a great deal or service In many districts In relieving congestion In. freight terflnals. Tho council has Just passed the following resolution: 'Resolved, That the Council of National Na-tional Defenso approves tho widest possible use of the motor truck as a transportation agency, and requests tho State Councils of Dofonso and other State authorities to take all tho necessary, steps to facilitate such means of transportation, removing any regulations that tond to restrict and discourage such use.!' |
