Show DAMAGE 8Y WIND AND HAIL Storm Wednesday Evening Ruins Fruit Cropland Hurts Alfalfa and Grain. A vsiln, wind and hall storm visited the southern portion of this county Wednesday evening nbout six oclock, doing no little damage. At Wells-vlllc Wells-vlllc the downpour of hull stripped the trees of foliage and blossoms, ! causing a damage that can hardly Iks estimated at'thls time. Alfalfa was clipped off as with a mower and - A spring grain was also badly hurt. ftUfc. It Is reported from Mt. The wind was very strong and for a time the people felt sure a real cyclone was upon them. Tho storm extended on up through Ilyrmn and went over the mountains. During the electrical and rain storm Wednesday ecn!ng lightning struck the home of Christian Ilugi in the Fifth ward and cut a few capers without doing any seilous damage. The bolt .-.truck the kitchen and bored a hole through the toot that was no larger than a silver dollar, but once Inside It made splinters of the walns-roatlng walns-roatlng around the room. Mrs. llugl was at a sink In the corner of tho loom and was stunned sulllclently to cause her to tumble over against the stove. A daughter, Emma, was In the dining room, tho door of which was open, and Into this room went the liquid lire. The young lady thought the house was on tire and began screaming. With that the electrical visitor took its departure and after a few minutes all was serene. It seems almost a miracle that no one was hurt.
