THREE Kveiy once In awhile we read of some sherlll whose gilt and determination determ-ination backed up with tlio necessary articles of warfare has protected a prisoner from a mob crazy to hang him. These mobs crazy as they are, hell-bent on wreaking vengeance on some miscreant, arc seldom so ear.y that the glitter of a steely eye behind a gun in the hands of an oillccr of the law who looks death will not arrest their attention. The world today may be likened to one of these mobs. In the rush for neecNsailes and luxuries, the people pay little heed to anything ordinary or-dinary around them, if thi-lr attention Is attracted it is only bv some one determined to do so, someone whose earnestness demands that they hail and heed. I if Logan and Cache Valley are to attract attention In tills great world the people heie must be determined to attract those whoso who in their lush look neither to the right or left. A toy pistol won't make noise enough lo do itIt lakes bombshells. Are there no determined men In this valley? It seems to us that we have heard many lurid tales of how the Democratic "big live" from Cache used to go to Salt Lako and there demand of the Demo- I cratlc party what it pleased, and 'tis said they usually got It. How I did they get it? Hy dint of determination they would listen to nothing noth-ing but that which tended toward the accomplishment or their end. Are these men dead? Are there not more of them? Could they not enlist themselves in behalf of the valley as these did for private and party gain? Men of determination can push this country to the front more eaMly than the Spartans held the pass tit Tliermopahi-. Yet the Spartans held allrlght. Is It borne in on the mind thaU Logan gets less of the good things tills state has to oiler than any other city? Did it ever dawn upon you that It's not because we can not get what we lose? Every public gathering of any description-political convention, fraternal outing, excursion, and such like that comes Into this valley advertlso us and leaves money In our midst. Can we get them oftener? Most assuredly If we go after them with determination that always wins. if we don't blow our own horn, no one will do It for us. We must bo alive, enthusiastic, optlmstlc, Inspiring. Most of the good things in this lifo are missed because they are not asked for. Shall Cacho pass up her rightful portion because no one will ask? What If that Commercial Club were more concerned with whooping Cache Valley than In social alia Irs and billiard tables? Get together, boost, llrst convince yourself, then another of what Cache is, what she can become and then never lose the opportunity to convince the world. Appoint yourself to a mission and fultiil It gloriously. Cacho Valley will reap a reward and yours will not be a small portion. a--"------- ----- - Kennedy a Laxative Honey and Tar Curei all Couatti. n4 txpels Coldi from tb iyitem by oently royaa tb bowel. a5H5H5H5E5B5S5H5H5B5E5E5H5E5g5E5H5E5H5H5B5H5Hj3B5lH .
