OCR Text	Show Long Didn't Know Everything. One morning (he Hon. John I). Long was on n tinln 011 tho South Shore, going from t home In Hlngham to Boston. A' tho train entered tho South station. Mr. Long, evidently In n hurry to get up town, went out on the platform of the car and tried to open the gnte, which had a patent fastener, and which even the Initiated nearly always had trouble In opening. After turning the handle every wny but the right wny, Mr. Iing stepped hack to let tome one else try It. A young man who was also on tho platform plat-form gave the handle the right turn nnd the gnte was swung open. As It did so a friend of Mr. Long who was with him said to him: "Well, you don't know how to do everything, do JOII?"
