Thomas L Obiay, a liftcen jear old boy herding sheep in the mountains neai the La Plata district, had his leg barilv loin Tuesday evening by the explosion of a illlc cartridge. In addition ad-dition to this his right hand was shot up and some namage was done his face. The boy was alone at the time and attended to his injuiies as beat he could, then sti tick out for help The story comes that for some reason parties part-ies he cncountoied on the way lent no aid and he traveled a mile to the La Plata mine where Supt. Thackwell gave him every attention possible.
