Show Society. I Mrs. I). C. Budge and Mrs. J. E. Shepard were hostesses at a five o'clock tea Wednesday, given at the cozy home of the former on East First North street. The occasion is said to liave been the most delightful of the kind ever given in the city, the appointments ap-pointments being exceptionally exquls-;ite,the exquls-;ite,the couise lunch beyond compare and the pleasures truly enjoyable. Ea'ii guest was presented with a ? L dainty package of "Japan tea" tied 1j with that country's national colois, " p and attached were a dainty cup and saucer. Another feature was a word contest In which the Idea was to make as many words as possible possi-ble from the letters in "Japan tea". Quite a large number of tho city's upper ten weic present, a list of which The Repuhlican would be glad to present had wo but the space. The success of the affair proclaims Mes-dames Mes-dames Budge and Shepard hostesses whose functions will alway be awaited with pleasant anticipations. |
