The city papers state that T. P. Stlffany, Milando Piatt, and Francis M. L)man, Jr., have asked the Salt Lake council for a 50-year 'franchise for an electric railway through tho city fiom one end to the other and that It is believed that the Intention of tho promoters Is to build an electric line fiom Piovo to Logan. Senator Smoot, C. E. Loose, the Tcllurldo Power Co. and others are believed to be the "men behind the gun" In this instance. In touching upon the present work of State Engineer Doremus, yesterday yester-day morning's Tribune states that "one of the largo enterprises for which an appropriation Is asked is that represented rep-resented in tho application of Francis M. Lyman, Jr. This is the application applica-tion In wlilch Messrs. L)inan, Pratt, Smoot and Loose aio Interested.
