Show An object lesson with profit could have been taken from the county Jail last week by many of Logan's bojs. John A. McDanlcl a lad of 14 has been very refractory during the past jear. Some time ago, he was taken bcfcii o Judge Hart for misconduct but was released ujion tho promise of good behavior. This promise he failed to keep, and he was recently arrested for stealing a blcjclc, tried and committed com-mitted to the Reform School until he Is twenty-one years old. As ho is but fourteen at present ho will remain there seven years. He was in the county Jail for two days before going to the school. Ills begging to bo released, re-leased, and ills cries were really pitiful to bear, but no sympathy could be extended to him, for it was proven that he was a disobedient, Incorrigible boy. The bos in Logan who aro becoming be-coming far too unruly for their parents par-ents and disregard their kind admonitions, admoni-tions, will bo in a similar position to joung McDanlcl If they do not turn a short corner. The hand of the law is seveic when placed upon a violator of the law, therefore Logan bojs should conduct themselves In a way and manner that will enable them to live above the law. If not, some day it will teach them and then it will be too late to talk reform. |
