Show The State's Opportunity. The National Irrigation Congress to be held at Ogden, September 15th to 18th, Inclushe, an official call for which Is published In another column, Is destined to be one of the most notable not-able gatherings held In the West during recent years. Utah as the hostage and one of the states most vitally Interested in the subject to be discussed sliould leave nothing undone un-done that will tend to make the occasion oc-casion of the greatest benefit and most enjoyable to everyone concerned. Representative men from all parts of the United States will be in attendance at-tendance and State pride should prove an incentive to untiring effort. Let these men understand that Utah is tit to be counted with great states. This is the one great opportunity offered of-fered to the state to leae a good impression im-pression on men of influence and power throughout the Union and the opportunity should not be neglected. Let Salt Lake and Ogden bury the animosity that so frequently creeps out, and mar the two cities work in harmony and for the best results. Let the State from St. George on the south to Franklin In the north be up and doing, and Cache county can not afford to do less than her .share. This county is entitled to from 1o to 30 delegates and these should be selected at an early date. Those chosen should be from the most enlightened1 en-lightened1 men of the count', and especially from among those most sincerely Interested In the Irrigation. Let Cache county be represented strongly and in such a way as to force itself upon the attention of the Congress. Con-gress. Some of the visitors, if not the entire body, will come to Logan to Inspect In-spect the Agricultural College, and such an event should be looked forward for-ward to with much Interest and considerable con-siderable preparation. |
