A desporato light took placo in tho captain's ofllco, whoro tho prisoners mado their break. Tho convicts wero Armed with knives nnd razors, and with theso they assaulted Warden Wll- klnson and his odlcors. Tho warfiou'o clothing was slashed Into shreds with n razor, but tho blado did not twich tho flesh. In tho fight Guard William L. Colter was killed and four other guards sorlously sorl-ously wounded.
