According Ac-cording to a communication whch Is published In another column, Water-master Water-master Holt says he has visited that place twice a day for some time and has seen no evidence of boys having been there, and states further that such a state of n (fairs as charged by The Journal lias never been reported to him. The communication aUo alleges that the matter has never been brought to the attention of Marshal Crockett, and that he knows nothing of It. Until that paper gives more delinltc Information, it Is but fair and reasonable that censure of anyone should be withheld. The Journal sliould be given an oppournlty to prove what it says. If It does so.then let the censure come justly upon the j ones who are gulityof permitting such a state of affairs. If it can not do so, let the censure fall upon the paper which has villlrlcd officials who )ac done their duty. |
