T., are to be relied upon, It has been established es-tablished beyond a doubt that John Wilkes Hooth, the niiiiderer of President Presi-dent Lincoln, escaped death at the time tho cilme was committed and since has been living in Kentucky, Texas and Oklahoma Tenltory. Junius Iluitus Ilooth, a nephew of John Wilkes has positively identtied one David E. Gcoigc as his uncle, and his Identification has been confirmed by Joseph JelTcison and Clara Morris who knew the unfortunate actor at the time of Lincoln's death. George, or Uooth committed suicide In Enid, O. T., in January, 1001, and in his effects was round a letter addiessod to J. L. Hates, Memphis, Tenn. Hates went to that town, viewed the remains re-mains and identified them as that ot John Wilkes Booth. He then went cast and secured positive evidence irom Jefferson, Miss Morris and Junius lhutus Hooth. This would seem to explode tho old story that Hooth was shot and burned in a stable not far fiom Washington City, and the many who believe In just retribution will find Wilkes suicide a subject for much conversation. Thus another chapter Is added to one ot the saddest events in the nation's history. |
