The lest of the evening was spent In talking of old times and congiatulating the aged Bishopric. The people of the Fourth ward are very pi oud of their leaders, for it is the oldest Bishopric in Cache Stake, and Bishop Thomas X. Smith has no doubt acted as Bishop longer than any man known of in the church. It Is nearly 44 jears sinco Bishop Smith was called to this position. May the blessings of Heaven rest upon these biethren that they may live long and lemaln In this position until God desliesthem lemoved, for they Indeed have the love of the Saints! n the waid ovei which they pieside. |
