"Entering the office of tho local weekly the minister said to tho editor: "I am soliciting aid for a gentleman gentle-man of refinement nnd Intelligence who Is in dlro need of a llttlo ready money, but who Is far too proud a man to mako Ills sufferings known. "'Why,' exclaimed tho editor, pushing push-ing up his eye shade, 'I'm tho only chap in the village who nnswers that description. What's this gentleman's name?' ' " 'I regret, bald the minister, 'that I'm not nt liberty to disclose It.' " 'Why, it must bo me,' said the editor. It is me. It's me, sure. Heaven prosper you, parson, in your good work.' " |
