Show SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES. The selection of Dr.Thomas by both parties In the fourth district to bo returned re-turned to the school board Is a timely Indication that school elections need not be partisan. Dr. Thomas Is a loyal supporter of republican principles princi-ples but, he has rendered such painstaking, pains-taking, Intelligent and impartial service ser-vice to the Logan schools that ho is equally admired and respected by democrats dem-ocrats and republicans. He has devoted devot-ed his life to school work, no Is familiar fa-miliar with it from the kindergarten to the university. He Is a public spirited citizen who is willing to give to his town the benefit of his attainments. attain-ments. The other republican candidates candi-dates are men of practical experience in the various walks of life. Mr. Cole U a young man of much promise. He is familiar with all grades of building materials and will give Invaluable advice ad-vice on all questions pertaining to building matters. Equally practical and even more so Is Mr. McLaughlin who has already shown the town many instances of his good judgment and high Ideals In school matters and engineering en-gineering problems. Prof A. N. Merrill Mer-rill Is another happy choice of our far-sighted far-sighted republican i. Fresh fiom a year's study lnhe east he knows the eastern schools and can possibly bring us much light from the orient to Illumine Illu-mine our own school problems. A schoolman, himself, he sympathizes keenly with the needs of the schools. The school election today Is a notable instance of our being able to vote for the best man and still remain a faithful faith-ful adherent of the republican party. |
