Show tf A Kick. 9 EdptouRkpuiimoan. 9 If tho city council only knew what a 9 feeling existed against them through tho law enacted last winter prevent- 9 Ing fruit peddleis from selling within the city limits without paying a pro- hlbltary licenser It Is the writer's opinion that that ordinance would be Immediately repealed. It Is solely In itho interest of somo three or four dealers deal-ers and against the Interest of nearly every housewlfo In the city. Many a larder Is short of Its usual quantity of early frulfc owing to this, to me, pernicious perni-cious law. Why not repeal It and give those who have fruit and who reside ontsldo of our city a chance to dispose of It to those who aro anxious to buy. Do not build a ''Chinese wall" around 9 this town and say "no one shall come m hoie and sell Its citizens anything un- ' less Uiey pay heavy tribute." I know ? personally of poor peoplo who made a living in the past through disposing ' of fruit In Logan who, this year, have 9 3 been almost dcstltuto and did not a I know which way to turn for support. .JlifS $ Evidently the members of the coun- J? fj " ell did not get very close to the people 99 a or they would never have passed tho ordinance. This matter is called to tho attention of that honorable body In tho hope that they will now como to tho relief of the people In order that ther may secure their fall fruits without with-out tho necessity of going to Brlgham City or sending there for it." |
