There aro about 300 tusks In th consignment, nnd In weight they rui from about seventy-flvo pounds to tin weight of nn ordinary man. Kew ol Ihem aro less than a yard In length and one Is fully eight feet long, having evidently been tho property nt somi time of an elephant that would rlva the famed Jumbo In size. According to those handling tho big lot of ivory on the ship the tusks nre valued at about $3 a pound, nnd as thero aro about sixteen tons In thn lot they muBt bo worth closo to $30,000 or an average of $300 each.
