The Logan city council met In regular regu-lar session Wednesday evening and transacted the following business- The case of the city against Mrs. C. Peterson In which she was given Judgment Judg-ment in a certain sum was compromised com-promised by an agreement to pay $XJ hi addition as court fees A like case againslJ. Johnson In which he also was awaulcd a certain sum In a condemnation con-demnation suit was settled by the city agreeing to do $50 worth ot fencing. It was decided that present plans and spcclticatlons for the new 111 o station sta-tion bo modllle:! as may be deemed necessary, that a competent supervisor super-visor be employed and that bids be asked for at an early date. Joseph 10. Wilson Jr. was awarded the contract for laying the cement walk In District No. 10, around the Champ and Cardon corners, his bid being $00 the lowest. It was decided that the Seventh ward people should have their waterworks water-works extension, the extension to begin, be-gin, howewer, at the present intake of the old water mains instead of commencing at a point cast of the old factory as oiiginally proposed. A resolution creating sidewalk district dis-trict No. 11 was passed. This embraces em-braces the walks cast from Main on Center two blocks, thence north one block; also one block north past the Thatcher pavilion. A protest against petition of Thomas X. Smith for extension of water mains was read and refrred. Attorney Sneddon reported that tho Independent 'Phone Co. had began be-gan business In Logan Oct. ll, 1005, and at the end of the year had 237 telephones tele-phones In operation On these Hie city can collect the amount agreed upon up-on In franchise The Committee on Sidewalks and Paving reported that petitioners on South Main arc entitled to a six foot walk as requested. This district will i einbiaee the walks on the cast side of South Main between t'listand Fourth South streets. The matter of securing a steam roller rol-ler for the city streets was referred to Committee on streets. For the present pre-sent work on Main It was deemed advisable ad-visable to negotiate with Ogden or Salt Lake for a roller. |
