Show EASTER IN LOGAN LO-GAN CHURCHES AH the Services Were Largely Attended. Special Programs Pleasing Pleas-ing and Appreciated. . The Easter service at the tabernacle Sunday evening was very delightful, except for its length, and was attended attend-ed by an audience that occupied ery nearly the entire seating capacity of this large building. While the musl- . cal program was not carried out in all 3p Its fullness, this part of the cvenlngs's effort was very pleasing The anthems an-thems were all big, majestic, full of power and very harmonious, showing the result of patient work. A feature of uncommon Interest, because so rare, was the large volume of music from the male side of the choruses. Solos in tlio anthems were carried by Misses Nora Ellason. Colla Montrose, Carrie Thomas and Frank Haugh. President Nephl L. Morris, of the Granite stake, Salt Lake county, delivered de-livered a fairly Interesting address, an hour in length. IIo set forth the I state of civilization at the time of Christ's coming and In pointing out the corruption of eastern civilization at that time painted many beautiful beauti-ful word pictures. He dwelt upon woman's sphere at that lime and how honored she was In that sphere. In Homo she was given the title "The Child Hearer," the highest title that could be conferred. Woman's thought then was of her children and how she could make great and noble men and women of them. The speaker dwelt upon the coming of Christ, his lowly birth and final crucifixion. 1 The Fourth Warders. In the Fourth ward the sqrvlces ' were nut less en Jo) able, and the house , was crowded, many being turned away cff 'tis said. The program as announced in the last issue of Tub Rki'UIimcan was cairled out with thr single exception excep-tion of the substitution of Major B. W. Robinson as the speaker of the evening in the place of M. J Mallard. The latter gentleman was quite III at I the time and unable to appear. Mr. Robinson's address was one of deepest interest, the speaker's familiarity famil-iarity with the Holy Land enabling him to present Ills talk on "The Resurrection" Res-urrection" In a splendid way. The musical numbers came in for great praise. Presbyterian. The service at the Presbyterian church attracted an audience that filled the edifice. Cut Mowers and D potted plants lent to the beauty of the occasion. Resur-rection. At the evening sorvlco Rev. Norlleet spoko on "The Forward Movement." Two musical numbers by tlio Mckln-non Mckln-non Mandolin Club were exceptionally enjoyable. Prof. David Smith, of the H. V. C. orchestra, gave violin selections that were greatly appreciated. Potted plants and cut flowers were used In decorating to the best advantage. |
