Show A Quarrel Church Member and Business Man. An amusing Incident, of the chicken style, happened a day orso ago In the western part of the city, two neighbors neigh-bors getting Into an altercation over-their over-their respective chickens. It appears they both owned chickens of the same breed and almost the same color. The business man set his fowl on a big hatching o' eggs and was awaiting developments, de-velopments, when to his great surprise, sur-prise, one morning saw his supposed chicken at his door dead. The church member was also surprised to sec his chicken In the barn, us comfortable com-fortable as could be, setting on eggs. In a little while the business man accosted ac-costed his neighbor and asked him what he had douc with hU chicken and eggs. The church member denied any knowledge of the whereabouts of the fowl, and the business man demanded de-manded satisfaction. Hot words soon followed, and sentences not learned at Sunday School were hurled hurl-ed at one another. During the mclco the business man tried to make the church' member understand and began be-gan to call him "Brother", but the latter would not be ''soft-soaped". In a short time the two parted, and at the breakfast table the bosof tho church member acknowledged that their chicken had died; that they had thrown the carcas; Into the doorway door-way of the business man's icsl-deuce; icsl-deuce; that they had taken the business busi-ness man's setting hen and eggs, all In fun to themselves but not their parents. The eggs were hatched ont Indue time, 13 all told. The church man got repentant, took tho chickens back to his neighbor and asked his forgiveness but the petition Is taken under advisement. |
