Show ROOSEVELT IN SALT LAKE. Great Crowds Listen to His Address Parade Pa-rade by Cowboys- Teddy Roosevelt, candidate for yiee president on the Republican ticket, addressed ad-dressed a vast audience at the Bait Lake theatre Friday night. The crowd was so great that hundreds had to be turned away from the door, and the galleries and aisles were peeked. The vice presidential party arrived !d the city from Ogdeo at 10:00. An escort of S00 cowboys met the party and escorted him through the eity. Crowds lined the streets to eatch a ' glimpse of the distinguished visitor. After the reception ended Mr. Roosevelt Roose-velt mounted a lively broncho and led an enthusiastic band of cowboys a wild chase of six miles. (Several horses of the band came in exhausted, but the Governor's steed was comparatively fresh. Mr. Roosevelt was presented with a saddle costing 8100, made from a gena ine cowboy pattern. He was greatly pleased with the present. After the speaking Mr. Roosevelt was entertained by the officers of the National Guard at the armory. The party left for Wyoming and the east Saturday morning. |
