Show HANNA CHALLENGED. Chairman Edmleton of Popnllst Committee Wants to Debate With Him. Vice-Chairman J. H. Edmiston of the Populist natioral committee has challenged chal-lenged Senator Hanna, chairman ot the Republican national committee, to a joint discussion. Mr. Edmistoa makes his desires known in a long communication which contains a list of thirty-four questions for Mr. Hanna to answer in public debate. Mr. Edmiston Ed-miston calls attention to the challenge of Mr. Hanna to William J. Bryan, which was declined and continues: "Now that you and myself, holding as we do similar positions as political representatives and campaign managers, mana-gers, I have, after due consideration, fully determined that it would be proper and right that I should challenge chal-lenge jou for a joint discussion of the leading issues in this campaign the time and place of holding the same to be named by you, and the questions to be discussed to bo named by me." |
